When you’re already in love, the only place you ever fall in love again is in the movies.
– Delia Ephron

The last time I posted, the world looked very different. Somehow, among the disruption, I've been seeking the comfort of food and film and found my way back to this blog.

Something that's helped me is carving out a routine. Every morning, I've been alternating between iced coffee and iced matcha. The repetition of making the drink, then sitting down to enjoy it, has brought me calm during these unsettling times. Whichever day of stay-at-home you're on, I hope you're staying safe and healthy and sane.

  1. Listening...
    — To bring a bit of Nancy Meyers magic to your life, put on the 'Nancy Meyers' Kitchen' playlist. I like to listen to it when I'm cooking.
  2. Reading...
    — Starting The Food Explorer: The True Adventures of the Globe-Trotting Botanist Who Transformed What America Eats by Daniel Stone this weekend to fulfill my wanderlust (via food travels).
  3. Watching...
    — We watched Fried Green Tomatoes (1991) earlier this week for the first time. The story was nothing that I expected but it brought the laughs and the tears.
  4. Cooking...
    — I've been drooling over the photos in the Tasting Rome cookbook by Katie Parla and Kristina Gill. This weekend we're going to attempt a couple of recipes.
  5. Entertaining...
    — This Disco Queen jigsaw puzzle is so pretty (but to be honest, does not look easy). Trying to find more ways to entertain myself that doesn't involve screens.
  6. Movie Nighting...
    — This woven blanket looks so comfy to curl up with on movie night. The imagery is reminiscent of something out of a rom-com or Shakespeare.
