Though today is technically World Book Day, we like to celebrate this holiday daily. We read a good variety of books, but they aren't always page turners. For those moments when you want to slow down with a good book, have this Page Turner cocktail in hand.

The citrus notes of the cognac are heightened by the triple sec while the amaretto’s nuttiness balances the sweetness. In short, this drink tastes like an orange almond biscotti.

The Page Turner

Serves: 1 | Mixing time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 part Cognac

  • ½ amaretto liqueur

  • Splash of triple sec

  • 1 Tbsp vanilla simple syrup

  • Ice

  • Large ice cube

Method

  1. Add ingredients to a mixing glass.

  2. Add ice.

  3. Stir.

  4. Pour through cocktail strainer over single large ice cube.

  5. Enjoy your cocktail and book.
